I wanted some sneakers that could be worn with jeans that would not look like big ugly white sneakers and these were perfect. They do run a tad big, so if, like me, you are between sizes you should take the smaller size.

I really wanted to love these shoes, and was so excited to have bought them, but while they are very comfortable, I've also experienced a few problems.1. Slippery!Beware with these shoes - the soles are quite slick in the rain; even though the soles are rubber, I think it's the pattern being quite shallow that causes this problem. I found this out the hard way... I have since worn them again in wet weather, but have to be extremely careful walking along smooth surfaces. It is just too easy to pivot on the ball of your foot in these.2. ColourAnother issue I had with these is the colour. I loved the colour from the photo - I thought the orange was more a salmon/peach colour, however the orange is very strong and bright (almost fluoro) and definitely not peach. The blue is also a lot brighter than I expected. I ended up brushing a thin layer of black shoe polish over those parts just to make it a bit less garish (those bits aren't black, more a shaded orange/blue now)... Of course the whole point of buying colourful sneakers is to wear colourful sneakers, but if I'd seen these in a shop I wouldn't have bought them based on the actual colour.3. SizeNot so much an issue, but just to hopefully help others decide on the correct size. I wear 8.5 in New Balance but sometimes the 8.5 can be a snug fit lengthwise, with little toe room if the shoe is thickly padded. That was the case with these - my big toe has less than 0.5cm to spare, so it's thin socks only with these. Although width in the 8.5 is just right, I think I could have gotten the 9 without it feeling too big.4. Not breathableThere are no meshy bits on the synthetic parts of these shoes, which can make your foot feel very hot. This could be considered a plus in cold weather, but I don't like my socks feeling so damp after only a few hours wear.So overall, while these shoes are comfortable, and the style is cute, I would not consider buying them again.
