I need a shoe with a wide toe-box. These are SO comfortable. I just walked for 3 hours in them - first time I've worn them. I feel good running in them (to catch the bus). These are not the sexiest boots around, but they are pretty decent-looking. They feel so good on my feet, I could probably sleep in them.

Maybe these aren't high-heeled sexy boots, but these boots are sexy and crazy cute. I ordered them in cherry. One change I would make to these boots if I were the designer: I'd make them knee length. They are a little short for the style. I normally wear a 9.5WW. Even though these were only a W, I had plenty of room in the footbed. I've ordered about eight pairs of boots trying to find one to fit and wished I could have kept these, even as an extra pair, since they aren't going to go with everything. My beef with these boots is that even though the calf opening says 16 inches, I could barely zip them up on my 16" calves (where I could on other boots of the same width). I wouldn't recommend buying them unless your calves are 15.5 or under. The leather does not feel like the type to stretch. A huge plus: these are extremely comfortable. They offer arch support (unheard of in most boots) and a very, very cushy footbed. (Note: If you are like me, you might want to give Bandolino Women's Cabezaw Knee-High Boots, 10M a try...I got them in Cognac and love the color...the footbed is wider than in many W's. They are a more classic style boot. On the downside, they are not nearly as comfortable as the Blanche boot. Perhaps that is to be expected...they were nearly half the price. Not sure if they offer them here at the site, but I got them at the most well known online shoe retailer.)

These are beautifully made, like all La Canadienne boots. I am an 8-8.5, med-wide. I got the 8 wide and they were very wide on me, and certainly long enough. I had to return for size alone. They have a lot of support under the foot, if that works for you. For me, it was hard to tell because they were so large, but probably too much support for my foot. In terms of appearance, I thought these might be funky/retro looking, and a way to get away with wearing flat boots with suits, skirts, work clothes. I thought that because they were slim in the leg, I might get away with a lower boot that didn't come to my knee. They didn't work. They looked frumpy on me, no funky. And they didn't look trim on my calf either. There was quite a bit of room between ankle and calf (this is a very skinny part of my body, so maybe it would be ok on someone else?) Maybe in red, you could achieve the funky look that I was hoping for? BYW, I got in the black pat.
