I used these the River Glove as a multi-purpose shoe in Costa Rica. I used it to do a pretty strenuous hike on volcanic rocks, to white water raft, and to rappel down waterfalls. They were perfect in that they were lightweight, durable, and easy to slip on and off as needed. I would recommend them for any water sports or other lighter walking or shorter hiking distances.

As a barefoot/minimalist shoe wearer these shoes have significantly more support than I am used to. They have arch support and a of sole in the heal. I plan on wearing them to Costa Rica for a month so I am hoping it goes well but not happy about how supportive these shoes are for my barefoot feet. Also just wearing them around the house, etc. to break them in and my feet sweat in them so that is not good either. They are comfortable, cute and I like the two strap options.

Like all my shoes that are Merrells , this one did not make my 5 stars.came in mail, box ok, looks are so cute but my right foot in shoe hurt to beat the band. I checked to see if any cardboard inside or material caught, the second toe just hurt each time I put it on my foot. my left foot perfect, so a band-aid put on toe see if that worked it didnt ....not to return them but this is my FIRST PROBLEM with Merrells. 35pairs. sooo sorry will try shoe later in June and see if I still have the right foot hurting; maybe put it in a stretcher. Most of their shoes are great. This seller was great, but priced at 94.95 to me was high.
