I purchased these shoes because I was looking for a waterproof shoe for winter. I have the Asics GT 2170 running shoes and love them, so I was expecting to like the Gortex version. After reading the reviews and knowing that I would wear heavier socks in the winter, I followed the advice of other shoppers and purchased an 8 1/2 instead of my usual size 8. The 8 1/2s fit but my toes feel scrunched up in them. Half size up was not enough, I would probably need a whole size larger. Unfortunately, the size 9s are sold out, so I'll be returning these and looking for a different shoe.I still gave them 3 stars because it is a nice shoe. I just wish they were a little more true to size.

These feel much heavier and tighter than the Kayano 17 and 18. Good to run in but not nearly as comfortable or light at the Kayano series. Nice color and design though!

I love asics gt2100 series. I have worn this style for the last 10 years and have yet to be let down. These shoes surprised me at first because I did not realize I had ordered the goretex shoes, however I have been pleasantly surprised to find them useful when the weather turns ugly. I have been able to run in the rain and through puddles without getting my feet or socks wet. It definitely makes running in the rain much more pleasant. I would recommend these if you live anywhere it rains regularly. I'll be saving these shoes to use on rainy days. I may also transition them into trail shoes as I believe they may be useful for running through creeks and such.
