When Merrell discontinued my favorite "Palmetto" sandal (I had about 10 different-colored pairs and still have 4 pairs I will never part with), I was bereft and my feet were forced to live with all sorts of silly humps and bumps with the other models. On a whim, I tried the new Lilyfern, and ahhhhh ... I see another 6 pairs in my near future. (And consequently more than a few Tomato Soup nights.)The Lilyfern footbed is a bit flatter than most Merrell sandals, without a lot of "orthowaves", and this works well for my feet. The upper does come up a bit higher than I would like, but I can get used to this. There is a bit of a rise in the footbed just in front of the center of my instep, but it is not so high that I feel my heel is lower than my toes.If you are new to Merrell sandals, they tend to be reported as "wide" which will confound the narrower foot. Also, many models such as this one do not come in half-sizes. Lucky for me - and I can wear anything from an 8 to a 9 in shoes - the 8 fits me perfectly. But I do have some old OLD Merrell sandals that have become too loose over time. And although Merrell has often changed the material used in the footbed, no matter what antimicrobial wonder I have tried, the sandal gets a bit stinky. All good reasons to buy more pairs.

These are my second pair of Merrell Lilyfern sandals. I have one pair for wearing outside and bought the second set to wear inside the house as slippers.Great fit for the medium width foot. Shoe says firmly in place and my foot does not accidentally slip out when walking. Very comfortable with adequate arch support.

I really like this shoe, but I couldn't give it 5 stars as it is not as comfortable as the wonderful Merrell sandals that I bought last summer. They were also slides, but had a crossed strap pattern on top. I had hoped these would be the same--I assumed the sole would be the same, and it was just a different design on top, but not so! These are not as cushiony as last year's model, which were absolutely perfect for my feet! That said, these are still very comfortable and very attractive sandals. The only warning I would give to others, is that the design on the insole is actually embossed. From the photo, I thought it was just stamped on to look nice, but it bothers me slightly as I can feel it on the sole of my foot when I walk in them.I think most people would be very happy with shoes--unfortunately, I had "perfect" ones to compare them against!
