We had an older pair of these for our twin boys that had a shiny finish on the toes. They looked *terrible* after a couple trips to the park. Turns out the nice grey leather finish was just paint, like on a colored women's shoe. When it scuffs off the bare leather is quite visible, and no amount of home remedy will patch it to match the surrounding finish.Now we have the brown ones with the yellow stripe, like in the picture here. These toes are covered with brown suede, which is great. Suede is dyed, not painted, meaning the color is deeper in the leather, and if they do wear through the finish, it should be easy to re-dye or just clean them up to look good as new.The shoes seems a bit stiff at first, but the boys seem to break them in quickly, and they run all over without complaint. They love these shoes and ask to wear them.

These are nice, comfy-looking sneakers. They run slighty smaller than the maryjanes so she will have less room to grow in. That is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Can't say enough good things about these and how I LOVE see kai run. Wish they made more sneakers for older girls. This was the only color i could find!
