I first discovered Smart Wool socks one winter here in Minnesota when my feet were cold all day at work and I was miserable. I went to our local branch of a sporting goods co-op and asked the clerks for help. When they pointed me in the direction of Smart Wool, I insisted I couldn't get those because wool makes me itch. They promised these would not so I took a chance.Am I ever glad! They were right. I can wear these socks without itching. Now I don't wear them only in the winter, I wear them with casual slacks and jeans all year long. Locally I can only get them in black so I'm excited to see the colors available on the site.My only complaint is that they don't seem to last as long as nylon socks (I wear them out at the heel), but the difference in comfort makes up for that.

I am a huge fan of Smartwool socks - I have worn them for years - but want to warn you away from these. They are not up to the Smartwool standard. They are not warm and the seams at the toe and heel are very rigid and awkward and do not fit comfortably when wearing shoes. Please avoid these!

I discovered smartwool a few years ago for hiking socks that prevented blisters and kept my feet dry on long hikes here in the Cali sun. But I found these more dressy socks on a trip to new york and I wore holes in my first pair, so I bought 3 more on the site. I wear them with everything, with casual athletic shoes, with birkenstocks, under boots, pretty much with just about anything. They are fantastic for travel, dry quickly in a hand wash. superb and awesome socks!
