These wash and wear well, and may become more useful when the weather is cooler and kneesocks are helpful for warmth. I've only worn these under long pants, just not ready for the comments I would get if they were under a knee length skirt. I'd say my calves are medium-sized (size 8 in pants) and I find the calves of these a bit snug. They are not uncomfortable or anything, but I do notice a slight distortion of the picture where my calf swells out. They stay up and the top cuff doesn't pinch although sometimes I notice a seam mark on my leg when I remove them.

These socks jumped out at me when I saw them on the "others who bought this item also viewed" screen. They are a gift for an art-lover friend, who absolutely LOVED them. Anyone who is a friend of Starry Night would love those socks, which are even better when you see the real thing than they are in the photo.

I saw the socks on another website and thought they'd make a great Christmas gift for my artsy mom. I found them cheaper on the site and they arrived shortly after. They look great and I think my mom will really like them.
