Too bad about the design on these, because I love the look, the really sturdy material, and the extra-rigid soles, which I need for an arthritic toe condition called hallux rigidus (in case anyone else is looking for rigid-soled shoes for that same reason). I had tried on a pair at REI in a smaller size and was crazy about them, and figured they were just too tight in the store because they were size 10.Found them on here in my regular Keen size (10.5). They fit my feet but, due to being designed very narrowly in the toes and across the top, knew within 5 minutes I couldn't keep them. Bummer, because I really wanted to wear these. Sending back tomorrow. :(I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because I really like the style and the material, even though I can't wear them. I wish Keen would devise a system to show people which type of footbed is being used on their different shoes, as some of their shoes are nice & roomy in the toes and that's why certain people buy the ones made with that footbed style. If anyone knows of a similar shoe with a rigid sole & good ankle support that doesn't smash your toes together, please let me know. Keens usually have a roomy, wide toe-bed and I have 2 pairs of Keen sandals made like that, and would love to find a closed-in shoe like this with the same wide toe-bed.

These are fine for using as an everyday shoe, but they are not a great hiking shoe. Because of the low shoe design, you cannot lace them up tightly. I can actually take the shoe off and on without unlacing it. The toe box is narrow for a Keen.Pros: Great looking shoe, good traction in bad weather, nice wide tread if you are on your feet a lotCons: Narrow toe box(order up a half size if you like toe room), lacing design

I am a big fan of keen shoes. But this particular style was not for me.I am in my early 30s, and these shoes seemed more fitting for an older generation. They fit a bit small and narrow, and were returned.
